The Judith Kerr Primary School Local Governing Body (“LGB”) would like to hear from members of our parent or local community who wish to serve the school as Governor and who complement the skills and experience currently contained in the LGB.
The LGB currently comprises eight external members, most of whom are parents of children at the school, a staff representative, and the Head of School. It meets once a term to review educational progress, to consider policies and to monitor the school’s financial position. Away from formal meetings, all Governors also have specific roles and areas of interest that call for ongoing commitment and diligence. Governors should attend training to support their work. This voluntary role can be demanding at times but is also enjoyable and rewarding.
The size of the Governing Body is flexible and can be adapted to suit the school’s needs. Governors recently agreed to seek one or two new members to improve further the capacity of the LGB to support the school.
If you are interested in joining the LGB, please download the information pack and application form. The information pack sets out the requirements of the role and the skill sets we are currently especially interested in. To apply, please send your application form and the supporting information requested in the pack by email to the Chair of Governors or leave the documents at the school office, addressed to the Chair of Governors, by Wednesday 19 April.
