The former James Black Institute
Judith Kerr Primary School occupies the building which was the former James Black Institute, previously occupied by King’s College London as its plant science department at 62-68 Half Moon Lane, London SE24 9JE.
We were able to convert part of the building to enable Judith Kerr Primary School to open in September 2013. Two further phases of redevelopment, to create new classrooms on the second floor, two halls, and a kitchen, were completed in February 2016 and we are now enjoying our new and much expanded facilities. The building is now ready for the school’s final capacity of 350 children.
Travel to school
We strongly encourage parents not to use their cars to bring their children to the school unless they really need to. We continue to work with our neighbours and Southwark Council to provide safe drop-off places and to keep any negative impact from school traffic on local amenities to a minimum. Staff are also encouraged to use public transport to travel to school. More about travel…
