Since 2013, the government has provided additional funding of £150 million each year to improve physical education and sport in primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in school. Each school receives an amount based on pupil numbers. Our total sport grant for 2016-17 is £8,960.
At Judith Kerr Primary School, we set a high priority on being a happy and healthy school. We have developed an action plan to ensure that this funding is invested (rather than ‘spent’) to maximise the long-term impact of our PE provision for pupils and staff.
Our Sports grant 2016-17 shows how we are investing the money and the way we closely monitor the impact of these initiatives through assessment of children’s skills, staff and pupil feedback, uptake of clubs etc.
Our PE & Sport Curriculum
This year we have joined the London PE & Sport Network, ensuring that our children get access to an enriching sports curriculum as well as opportunities to participate in competitive sport.
